ABOUT THE AREA : SANTA INES , NORTH

THE REGION WITH GREAT NATURE AND AUTHENTIC IBIZA FEELING

Ibiza Santa Ines Map.jpg

Santa Ines is a pretty village in the North of Ibiza, so small it only counts a church, a few houses around it and two restaurants. But nature has lots to offer for hikers and cycling fans : here the authentic slow-pace feeling of Ibiza transpires.

Ibiza´s North is the place in Ibiza for a more real living experience, the people being in general in a more relaxed and different state of mind than those in the South and West. The region is in midst of luxurious green nature the whole year long. There are great beaches around the corner: Benirras (with great sunsets), the steep cliffs of Puerta del Cielo and laid-back villages like San Juan. Many small coves and a wild coastal region present great hiking and trails for mountain biking.

Some of the best beaches in Ibiza are reached in 10-15 minutes from Santa Ines such as Benirras, Calabassa with CBBC beach Club, Cala Conte, Cala Gracionetta, Cala Salada.

10 minutes from San Antonio City
15 minutes from Santa Gertrudis

The blooming of the almond trees transforms Santa Ines Valley every February into a natural wonderland not to be missed.

Cala d’Albarca stands for unforgettable nature, wild shorelines and cliffs with a massive stone bridge hanging over the seas far below... This one-hour hike down a steep hill behind the village of San Mateu. It is quite a trek, but a fantastic spectacle. Wear good shoes.

Cala Gracioneta is a romantic small beach with its "chiringuito" a beach cafeteria. The restaurant under the trees keeps a lovely authentic Ibiza feeling only 10 minutes from Santa Ines.

One of the top spots to enjoy Ibiza´s great coastal spectacle is restaurant Hostal de la Torre, 15 minutes drive from Santa Ines. With unexpected benches and tables down the hill towards the sea. One of the great sunset experience in Ibiza.

A tangible sign of the rebirth of San Antonio:

Es Tragón in Cala Gracio, the only one-star-michelin restaurant in Ibiza was awarded its distinction in 2020, where Madrid-born chef Alvaro Sanz Clavijo is leading the kitchen.

MILD CLIMATE IN IBIZA
Ibiza and Formentera are drier and warmer than the rest of the Balearic Islands, presenting a semi-arid climate.

The average annual temperature of the island varies between 16º and 18.5º

Yearly rainfall is between 300 mm and 600 mm.  The sun exposure of the territory is very high, with about 3,000 hours per year on 320 days.
