ABOUT THE AREA : SAN ANTONIO

THE SUNSET REGION WITH SOME OF THE BEST BEACHES IN IBIZA

Ibiza Map - SanAntonio.png

San Antonio is the second largest city on Ibiza Island offering all amenities like restaurants, bars, shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, petrol stations, etc. San Antonio holds the Municipality offices of the Region, the place to sort out administrative tasks related to properties in this area.

San Antonio undergoes since 2019 a change in its way how to host tourism with a push towards a more orderly behavior and a better quality of life. Many hotels have been renovated. A few new designer hotels have been built like the 5*star OKU in Cala Gracio.

Some of the best beaches in Ibiza are reached in 10-15 minutes from San Antonio such as Calabassa with CBBC beach Club, Cala Conte, Cala Gracionetta, Cala Salada

15 minutes from Ibiza City
20 minutes from Playa d´en Bossa
with Ushuaïa, Hï Club, Hard Rock Hotel, and many more
25 minutes from Airport

San Antonio is the "Sunset City" of Ibiza, being perfectly oriented to enjoy great sunsets, celebrated in the summer season at world-famous places like Café del Mar or Mambo café.

Cala Gracioneta is a romantic small beach with its "chiringuito" a beach cafeteria. The restaurant under the trees keeps a lovely authentic Ibiza feeling only 5 minutes from San Antonio.

One of the top spots to enjoy San Antonio´s great coastal spectacle is restaurant Hostal de la Torre, 5 minutes drive to Cala Gracio. With unexpected benches and tables down the hill towards the sea. One of the great sunset experience in Ibiza.

A tangible sign of the rebirth of San Antonio:

Es Tragón in Cala Gracio, the only one-star-michelin restaurant in Ibiza was awarded its distinction in 2020, where Madrid-born chef Alvaro Sanz Clavijo is leading the kitchen.

Calabassa Beach with its famous beach club CBBC. Its excellent reputation does not come from nowhere:  pristine turquoise water, fine sand, a clean beach and a wide restaurant offer from simpler chiringuito to classy dining.

As the beach has soft slope, the water temperature is quite warm. Parking is organised by the beach club just 200m from the beach and will cost a few euros per car per day. Upon arrival there is a rocky area that resembles a lunar landscape which adds further attraction to this cove.

Cala Conta or "Platjas del Comte" is made up of several smaller coves. There is a large free parking close to the beach, the later you arrive the further away you will be able to park. Count a maximum of 5 minutes walking.  When you arrive on foot on the cliff you get a view of all the coves and you can choose your spot.  In front of the beaches lay scenic islets S’Illa des Bosc.

Pom-Thai-Ibiza.jpg

A wonderful place to try great Thai cuisine is restaurant Pom Thai tucked away in a garden in Cala De Bou 4 km from San Antonio. Pom is your chef, and Jo the manager your smiling host.

MILD CLIMATE IN IBIZA
Ibiza and Formentera are drier and warmer than the rest of the Balearic Islands, presenting a semi-arid climate.

The average annual temperature of the island varies between 16º and 18.5º

Yearly rainfall is between 300 mm and 600 mm.  The sun exposure of the territory is very high, with about 3,000 hours per year on 320 days.
